When Two Lost Souls Meet


I had never really wanted a sister of my own, growing up with three older brothers. But sometimes, just sometimes, I would swipe my eyeliner on or pick up a new dress off of the Charlotte Russe rack and wish I had someone to dress up and talk about the release of the new Taylor Swift song with (Not my cup of tea, by the way). And then I got this little beauty of a neighbor.

With super thick blonde locks and the most gorgeous complexion, I knew she would be the perfect subject. This was a dream come true to both her and myself. As I had my nephew help me gather up the props and head out to the water, I think we both realized how well this had come together. I knew it would be awesome to include some different props, but figure I could throw a book in there too, since her and I both have a very strong love for reading. 

When I handed the book to her, she even started reading! We then had a nice conversation about what my favorite book (the one she's pictured with), Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen, was about. I explained to her how I've read it over 6 times, and could probably read it again. After our conversations about books, we had a little bit of fun by combining a quite fluffy skirt with the perfect amount of wind. It turned out her hair was the real star of the show. 

We finished the session with a short trip back up the trail, and many promises to do this again sometime soon.

Travel Broadens The Mind

When I began planning in my 365 Happy Planner a couple of weeks ago, I wanted to implement all of the Pinterest ideas I could find. One of the things that I did was insert a page to create a bucket list at the beginning of every season. I also inserted a page to create my travel bucket list. As I slowly started to make my fall bucket list, my travel page came together very quickly. As many people close to me already know, I plan on traveling in different areas of Europe in early Spring next year. Other than that, I have plans to go to Maine, Connecticut, New York, Washington D.C., Disney World, San Antonio, Arkansas and hopefully many other impromptu trips throughout the rest of the year and early next year.  This has been the biggest blessing of my gap year so far and I can't wait to see where I end up. Workout Wednesday

Today I had a bit of a 'trial run' of starting my 5 day a week journey at the gym. Since my brother will be going out of town tomorrow, he won't be here to train with me for the rest of the week. We went today at 8 a.m. (despite my love of sleeping in), and did what he called a "full body workout." And I can testify it was indeed a full body  workout. My arms feel it. My legs feel it.  My stomach feels it. My feet feel it.  Everything hurts.  I had to lift weights. I used machines I'd never seen before. I spilled my water all over the floor (accidentally). But it was worth it. I've been productive for the rest of the day and while my body is sore I want to feel this way again and again and again.  We plan on getting into a regular routine of going in the morning around 8 a.m. five days a week, sometimes taking classes and trying something new. Believe It Or Not

A lot of people think that because I am not going to school, that I don't have a lot of things to do, I sleep in, eat whenever, shop whenever. And to an extent some of that can be true. Recently I have been able to sleep in to around 9:45. But I still do a lot of things each day. Every day I am expected to: 1. Write a new blog post 2. Edit photos 3. Schedule photo sessions 4. Update planner 5. Create posts for blog/photography page 6. Watch my nephew twice a week 7. Come up with new and creative ideas for blog posts 8. Keep on top of always changing chores/errands And so on and so forth. But please, don't think I'm complaining. I love to do every single thing on that list and that is why I have so much drive to complete them. Starting next week, I'm going to add going to the gym 5 days a week at 8 a.m. I've been desperately wishing I had the energy to get in a routine of going to the gym.
