Bump's First Football Season


When my sister-in-law approached me saying she wanted to do an out-of-the-box maternity shoot at a Cowboys' training day, I jumped all over it. We had to capture the essence of what it's like to be at a sporting event, while still getting her day-to-day struggles of bathroom trips, snack cravings and impromptu nap times. The day started with the best thing a mom-to-be could ask for: a trip to the concession stand.

After getting the necessities, she made her way to the stands just in time to rip open her pack of Twizzlers as the players ran onto the field. 

Once a little time had passed, and snacks were all gone, it was time for Sarah to search for an area where she had a little bit more room to herself. After perusing the crowded stadium, she found an area where she could cheer all by herself. 

And throw up the 'X' just like her favorite player Dez Bryant. 

And then, from exhausting all of her energy from snacks, cheering, and constant bathroom trips:

It was time for her to take a little snooze. 

Even though she didn't meet her crush Dez Bryant (sorry, Michael) or her other favorites like Zeke and Dak, it was still a successful trip. She celebrated on the outdoor field at the entrance of The Star to mark the most memorable mental health day she's ever had.

After shopping at the just opened Lone Star Mercantile in Allen, I decided I needed to put my recently bought props to good use. But how? Where? When? Then, in between Pinterest search after Pinterest search, I got it. With the most adorable 17 month nephew at my disposal and some fall decorations up in the attic to complete my look, I had my answers. After waiting for the sun to fall a little further, I gathered up my things and took the party to the backyard. Unfortunately, my actual setup only lasted a few minutes. Travel Broadens The Mind

When I began planning in my 365 Happy Planner a couple of weeks ago, I wanted to implement all of the Pinterest ideas I could find. One of the things that I did was insert a page to create a bucket list at the beginning of every season. I also inserted a page to create my travel bucket list. As I slowly started to make my fall bucket list, my travel page came together very quickly. As many people close to me already know, I plan on traveling in different areas of Europe in early Spring next year. Other than that, I have plans to go to Maine, Connecticut, New York, Washington D.C., Disney World, San Antonio, Arkansas and hopefully many other impromptu trips throughout the rest of the year and early next year.  This has been the biggest blessing of my gap year so far and I can't wait to see where I end up. Workout Wednesday

Today I had a bit of a 'trial run' of starting my 5 day a week journey at the gym. Since my brother will be going out of town tomorrow, he won't be here to train with me for the rest of the week. We went today at 8 a.m. (despite my love of sleeping in), and did what he called a "full body workout." And I can testify it was indeed a full body  workout. My arms feel it. My legs feel it.  My stomach feels it. My feet feel it.  Everything hurts.  I had to lift weights. I used machines I'd never seen before. I spilled my water all over the floor (accidentally). But it was worth it. I've been productive for the rest of the day and while my body is sore I want to feel this way again and again and again.  We plan on getting into a regular routine of going in the morning around 8 a.m. five days a week, sometimes taking classes and trying something new.
